Sunny Arizona

Oh, how I have missed sunshine! Last Thursday night, my mom and I (with Daylin and Nora Tess in tow) started our trek to the sunshine-y splendor of Arizona! It was a short trip and a long drive but 90+ degree weather and getting to spend time with Cade, Jill, Leah and Carter made it more then worth it. We stopped and slept for a couple of hours in Kanab on Thursday and then Made it the rest of the way on Friday morning. That night we went to a play that Leah was in - the youngest cast member - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I thought it would be a struggle to get Daylin and Nora Tess to sit still after being so long in the car, but it was so entertaining and fun that they both sat through 2 hours of it, totally enthralled! Nora Tess tried to sing along a few times and Daylin kept asking, "Why his brothers being mean to him?" and then afterwards, "Joseph's Dad got him his coat back!" It was really fun! We helped Cade and Jill pack up stuff in the house on Saturday and then had an outing to the outlet malls and played on the playground/splashpad there for awhile. Sunday, Mom and I took the kids to a different splashpad where they had a blast. What a great way to spend an afternoon. Cade and Jill were good and went to church! Monday morning came all too soon and found us back on the road again. A 10 hour trip inevitably becomes a 12 hour trip with a 10 month old and a 4 year old. But the girls did so good, I can't really complain. When we finally got to Salt Lake about 8:30pm we played outside for awhile, Nora Tess and Daylin had a bath together and then about 11 pm Nora and I got back in the car for the additional 2 hours home. It was way passed bedtime so Nora slept the whole way thankfully. It was a rough drive but we made it and it was so good to be home and to see my super wonderful husband who stayed up waiting for us! What a good guy! I wish I was back in AZ now though, because Tuesday night it snowed and Wednesday morning there was actually snow on the ground again! I just want to scream!!!
