Nora Tess' 1st Birthday BBQ Bash!

On Saturday we had a Birthday BBQ for Nora Tess at the park just down the road from our house. It ended up being lots of fun with great family and friends. Here is a slideshow of the guest of honor:

Nora was a little apprehensive about the cake destroying. I really thought she would be up to her eyeballs in it right away. She did a fair job in the end of getting it all over. I ran her home afterwards for a quick bath before the horseshoe tournament commenced. She also really enjoyed opening her presents - she had lots of great help from her cousins; Samantha, Seth and Daylin. Thanks guys!!
then came the real fun: Ice Blocking Anyone?!!

This was an impromptu activity that turned out to be a ton of fun. We got 10 blocks of ice and everyone took turns and had a blast we had a couple of big races from top to bottom of the big hill at the park. Not to boast, but I have to say I rocked it! Tom had me on speed but I stayed on longer!!! ha. Dad topped it off with a wicked back somersault of of his ice block. I got one good pic but Melissa scored the great ones!! It was such a blast!

We also had a quick horseshoe tournament! Dad and Marisa Hartmann were the big winners!
Clay managed to do this twice in pretty quick succession so I had to take a picture the second time.
of course he had to celebrate!
Uncle Matt (Clay's oldest brother) stopped in to say Happy Birthday! Nora Tess was laughing at the troll doll he gave her.
We had to hurry up with the tournament as it was starting to get dusk. I'm so grateful for such fun family and friends. I don't know what I would do without them. Thanks everyone - for making the trip over and for the great gifts you gave to Nora Tess - she's been in hog heaven for days!!! :)
