Weekend Fun

Last weekend Clay wanted to go to a ropin' in Driggs, Idaho so Friday we loaded up in the truck with the horses and headed over to Cokeville where some good friends live. We took poles and rods and fished their pond. It was so fun. It doesn't get fished much and so as soon as our spinners or our nymphs hit the water we were reeling one in. Nora had a great time fishing. The biggest fish we caught was on her little Barbie fishing pole that she got to open early for her birthday. She was pretty die-hard too. She took off for awhile "exploring" trying to chase down her buddy, Tonka (the dog) but she mostly stayed right there for 2 hours and fished. opening her early birthday present.

We stayed that night in Cokeville and took off the next morning for Driggs. The ropin' was good. It was close to 100 degrees so it was hot, but the horses did great and Nora Tess loves to go watch. She always says, "oh darn it, they missed 'em" or "Mama, they catched his toes!" she played in the dirt with a little boy about her age, for so long that I was afraid she was going to get heat stroke! That night we found a campground on our way over the pass to Jackson and spent the night. Clay and I jumped in the river, which was so cold it was painful. It was so much fun to go and it's nice that Nora Tess loves the outdoors as much as we do, so she's easy to go along.
This is me running out after dunking myself in the river. It was so cold!
This is how I found Nora the next morning at 9am when I finally had to go in and wake her up so we could take down the tent.
